Mexican Mariposa

My homie Alec Monopoly has been on a serious world adventure. Leaving his mark behind him as he travels to a new location. He placed an amazing Butterfly right on the beach, bringing some more beauty to Mexico.  His butterfly steez is one of my favorites, and hope to see more fluttering around the world. Stay Up Brother!!!!

The New York Wall...

During Art Basel, a lot of people found themselves going from one event to the next. What they did not realize is the real action was in Wynwood. An insane amount of graff writers and street artist had taken over the streets of Wynwood. I was invited by Samuel Mark, an influential artist from New York, to come by and film the wall he was working on. Samuel and a few other artist created an amazing mural that mixed graff and street art. Signifying graff writers and street artist are equal to one another. They do what they do for one reason and that is to occupy as much wall space as possible. If you ever find yourself in Wynwood, I urge you to go check out this amazing wall, located at NW 2nd Ave and 22nd st. To all the artist who participated, Stay Up, Go Big, and Never Quit. Samuel Mark, Fumero, AOM, Abso, Sev,Veks, Velo, Lost, Alec Monopoly, Werds, Eres, Leaf, Json, Meno, and Beaso, you all did an amazing job! (Click the photo's to enlarge)

Del Toro Shoe Gallery 2011

In the spirit of Art Basel Miami, Del Toro Shoes and Miami Street Art put together a spectacular event. We were able to get 18 amazing artists to design the classic Del Toro slipper, made of canvas, with their own unique style. Even Pharrell Williams designed a pair for the event, but it's more like he autographed them. Everyone who attended, was amazed with the shoes and the event was a great success. Alec Monopoly: The Art Basel Miami Show 2011

My brother is back in Miami for Art Basel 2011, and his solo show was extremely successful. His show took place at Avant Gallery, which is located on South Beach. If you are in Miami, go check out Alec Monopoly's collection, which will be open to the public for viewing.

Alec Monopoly fiends for painting in the street. If he doesnt get his fix, he will turn into a monster. Alec will bomb the streets at any point in time, real addict of the street art life. Check this video out.

DJ Monopoly...

Alec Monopoly is a close friend of mine, so I've seen his work evolve to what it is now. Right now he is killing it in NYC. I know, this print is not in Miami, but everytime Alec comes to the 305, he shows it love.

From L.A. to M.I.A.

On March 24th, 2011 well known street artist, Alec Monopoly, had his solo show at Avant Gallery. Alec's style filled the room with vibrant colors and iconic figures, leaving everyone stunned with amazement. He is based out of L.A. and his work can be seen all over major cities like NYC, London, and Boston. Bringing his style down to Miami was the next step. First doing a show at the Mondrian, for Art Basel, which was an excellent event. Aloe Black performed his hit "I Need a Dollar" while Alec awed the croward with his art work.  Now having a show at Avant Gallery, located on 39th and N. Miami Ave in the Design District, we are sure to see Alec down here more often.
